VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT | Get to Know Victoria Raggs

Now that tryouts are over let’s take a second to give some attention to our wonderful coaches! We have so much talent on our coaching staff it was hard to decide where to start.

We are going to kick off with our very own Track and Field coach Victoria Raggs!

Victoria Raggs brings Division I collegiate coaching expertise and world class athletic experience to Maccabi Games Track and Field. She is a former coach of both men and women at several universities such as Virginia Tech and Oklahoma State. She also did speed training for football players looking to enter the NFL Scouting Combine. As an athlete, Victoria attended the University of Illinois, Champaign where she was a NCAA All-American and Big Ten Conference Champion. After graduating from Illinois, Victoria competed in the USA Olympic Trails. She also competed internationally as a member of the United States Track and Field Team and Nike. Currently she coaches Track at Chamblee Charter High School and is an AFAA certified Personal Trainer.

Victoria is a long-time member of Congregation B’nai Torah. She has four children; two attend The Epstein School and two attend Chamblee Charter High School. One of her children has Cerebral Palsy.  As a parent of a child with special needs, Victoria is a passionate advocate for Jewish disabilities and inclusion awareness.

She hopes that she can use the experience of participating in the Maccabi games foster a lifetime love for health and fitness through sports, while also promoting Jewish identity and camaraderie.

We know Victoria is a diligent, disciplined, and hard-working coach who will help Team Atlanta race to the medal stand! We can’t wait to see what she and our other coaches do at this Summer’s JCC Maccabi Games in Atlanta!
